| Welcome to abby's tail! |
Abby-Aka Abbadabba, Abilicious, Frito Lay, the Princess, or Fruitcake. Abigail Kerry (She was named after two famous Bostonians...Abigail Adams and John Kerry) came into my life 4 years ago. She is the most beautiful Boston Terrier I have seen, and she has the temperament to match. She is just like Will Rogers...everyone is a friend. I've never seen her shy away from a person. I'm in trouble if there is ever an intruder in my house. My protector would welcome him with a big kiss. Abby is a very happy dog. The people that watch Abby while I'm at work claim that she is always "up". She is always happy and ready for a good time....which means to Abby doing just about anything. Do you want to nap? Okay, she wants to snooze, too. Do you want to run around in the backyard? Great! Do you want to do some work? I'll help you! She is very flexible.
Boston Terriers are called the clowns of the canine world, and Abby is no exception. She keeps me laughing at her silly antics. She will bark at birds while she is eating her dinner. I keep telling her not to bark with her mouth full, but she won't listen. Abby is curious about everything. She has to know everything that is coming into the house. Nothing ever enters without going through an "Abby check." If I have been around another dog I get the cold shoulder for at least 30 minutes. The vet said that Abby was "food oriented"....this is a big understatement. Abby begs for medicine, vitamins, and anything that goes near a person's mouth. Even if she doesn't want it or like it, she'll beg for it because she feels that she is missing out on something wonderful and tasty. She has to check my breath to see what I've eaten without her permission. As you can see Abby is a very spoiled girl. Her favorite time to get a tummy rub is at 4:00 in the morning. She'll stick all four legs in the air, and start to snore (a Boston characteristic) in contentment. I'm glad I have a queen-sized bed because Abby hogs all of it except for maybe six inches on the side. Even when she was a puppy she was a bed-hog. My girl has an uncanny ability to tell when I'm not feeling well. If my back hurts she'll snuggle up to my back. No heating pad could do a better job. If my stomach hurts she'll curl up by my stomach. Abby is good medicine. She won't leave me when she knows I'm not well. I've caught her sitting and staring at me in the middle of the night. I am so blessed to have such a good friend in my life. I knew from the minute I saw her that she was my dog, and I was her person. She truly is a Boston Terrier extraordinaire...
